A Psychoeducational assessment (psych-ed) provides a roadmap for you or your child's learning journey.
This type of assessment can help identify learning disorders in reading, writing, or math, alongside exploring underlying cognitive processes to help understand your child's learning needs and strengths.
An assessment can help answer a variety of questions:
Is my child gifted?
Does my child have ADHD?
Does my child have a learning disorder?
What strategies or supports might help in the classroom?Do I (adult) have ADHD or a learning disorder?
I'm going to post-secondary, and have found learning/attention challenging. I don't have a diagnosis, but have always wondered if I did have any learning needs.
Our work together is about you. We move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable, with your story at the center of the process. By sharing your experiences, you can begin to make sense of what you’ve been through, find meaning, and support healing. We will honor your story and walk together as you navigate challenges and build greater clarity and understanding in your life.
Approaches used might include: Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), ACT for Trauma; Narrative or story telling approaches; Trauma-informed approaches.
